Watch our DIY LED Light Frame instructional video online.
Level: Advanced
Advanced projects can typically be completed with 2-5 tools. Assembly can be completed in 60 - 90 minutes, and we recommend 60 - 90 minutes for planning and personalization. This project is appropriate for students in grades 5 and above.
Objective: Construct a DIY LED Light Frame
Students will use basic carpentry and electrical skills to build their very own DIY LED Light Frame and wire a receiver. Students will have an opportunity to get creative and decorate their light frames and choose a meaningful photo to place in their frame, making them a perfect gift or decoration.
Instructors then have an opportunity to reinforce learnings by prompting questions such as:
- What skills were required for you to assemble the LED Light Frame?
- How was this project different from or the same as other projects you have built?
- What memory will you feature in your LED Light Frame?
- What is the difference between an LED light and an incandescent light?
