Grow-It-Yourself: Little Farmers Series is a hands-on gardening and STEAM enrichment program for kids ages 5 - 9 in Ventura County. This 7-week program combines science, nature, creativity, and outdoor learning to help young learners understand where food comes from while building confidence through real-world experiences.

Each week, students participate in engaging, hands-on activities that introduce important concepts in plant science, gardening, hydroponics, environmental education, and healthy eating. From planting seeds to harvesting fresh vegetables, children experience every step of the growing process while developing observation skills, critical thinking, and a lifelong appreciation for nature.

Throughout the program, Little Farmers will:

  • Plant, grow, and harvest their own microgreens

  • Learn the basics of hydroponic gardening by building a take-home grow jar

  • Explore soil science through fun sensory activities and experiments

  • Visit a local farm for an interactive educational field trip

  • Create nature-inspired crafts and keep a nature journal

  • Discover what plants need to grow through hands-on STEM investigations

  • Prepare and enjoy farm-to-table snacks and salads using their own harvest

Our programs focus on making learning fun while reinforcing science concepts through hands-on exploration.
